Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced that its PacStar® business, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), has completed cryptographic/cybersecurity testing in accordance to the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS) for its PacStar 451, PacStar 453 and PacStar 455 rugged, small form factor servers with Cisco Adaptive Security Virtual Appliance (ASAv) 9.12. The successful completion of Common Criteria certification for the PacStar 451/453/455 with Cisco ASAv 9.12 updates PacStar’s existing certification with Cisco ASAv, extending the servers’ full firewall functionality for use in classified networking solutions and enabling customers to obtain or renew an Authorization to Operate (ATO). The combination of these PacStar 400-Series servers with Cisco ASAv delivers a range of rugged, small form-factor networking appliances for use as a traffic filtering firewall and VPN gateway. These solutions are optimal for a wide variety of tactical and expeditionary use cases that require network protection and encryption of data-in-transit – including use in classified networks protected by commercial solutions.
